Is the free version really free?
Yes - background removal, bulk processing, Magic Brush, backgrounds, and text tools are free forever, at full resolution, with no watermarks and no usage limits. There is no credit balance and no degraded preview. Pro only adds new seller workflow features on top.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a single one-time payment of $49.00. There is no account to create and no trial that starts charging you. You get a license key by email and every future Pro update is included - there is nothing to cancel because nothing renews.
How does the license key work?
Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record. After purchase your license key arrives by email; paste it into the editor once and Pro unlocks on that device. You can activate a few devices and unlink one at any time to free the slot. No account or signup is needed.
Do my images still stay on my device?
Yes. Pro features run in your browser exactly like the free tool - images are never uploaded, and your store is never modified. You download the results yourself. The only network request Pro adds is validating your license key.
Does Catalog Studio only check the background?
No, and that is the point. A white background is necessary but not sufficient - listings also get suppressed for frame fill, oversized or undersized dimensions, file size, visible borders, and transparency the platform flattens. Catalog Studio measures each rule separately, shows you the measured value next to the threshold, and tells you which failures block an upload and which are only recommendations.
